Stranglewank are the latest edition to the CYI roster. They write despicable songs about love, sex, and their employers. Hopefully not in a connected way. Johnny Gash (guitars, bass, vocals) met Rick O’Shea (guitars, bass, vocals) in an alcohol rehab clinic in 1985, and the pair bonded over a mutual love of gin, White Lightning cider and public masturbation. When they were finally booze-free they celebrated with a curry and a four-day drunken rampage. It was during this hazy time that they conceived what would later become their debut album, which will be released later this year.
For now, head on over to the releases page and listen to the Brown Nose single. It’s lovely.
